I figured I should get a post in here nice and early explaining why I am confident I can beat this picky eating habit.
Not long ago you wouldn’t catch me putting a bean (of any kind) near my mouth. I would eat chili long after everyone was finished because I had to make sure every bean was out of the bowl. I would go for Mexican and tell them to keep the beans off of my plate. No Beans…..At All…..For Any Reason!!
I was not only a picky eater, but I also frequented Fast Food Drive-Thrus. One day I stopped for my normal Nachos (Chips and Cheese Only) from Taco Bell. On the way home I opened my food and started eating without really looking at my food. Before I could realize it they had put re-fried beans on my chips AND I had eaten some. But, now came the concern. I think I liked them!! So I ate little more and figured the re-fried beans weren’t that bad. (Considering of course they are half lard and maybe not even real beans) I tried a bit more and ended up eating all of the chips, Beans and all.
As the months went on I was more open to trying beans. First beans in chili and then a can of baked beans. I have since become hooked!! All but, black beans. I haven’t figured out why yet, but I just don’t like them. If I could have beans with every meal I would. I will often open up a can of Busch’s Vegetarian Baked Beans and eat them as a meal.
So…..because of my ability to turn an absolute hatred for beans into a love affair I could not live without, I am sure there are plenty of other foods out there waiting to steal my heart!
